Key features of the XAT exam include:
XAT typically consists of four main sections: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Decision Making, Quantitative Ability, and Data Interpretation, and General Awareness. There may also be a section on Essay Writing.
Mode of Examination: XAT is generally a computer-based test (CBT), but it may also include a pen-and-paper (P&P) test for the Essay Writing section.
Eligibility: To be eligible for XAT, candidates should have a bachelor’s degree or be in the final year of their bachelor’s program.
Scoring: XAT does not follow a conventional scoring pattern. The marks awarded for each correct answer may vary across sections, and there is a penalty for incorrect answers.
Acceptance: While XLRI is the primary institute that uses XAT scores for admission to its management programs, many other B-schools across India also accept XAT scores as part of their admission criteria. Each participating institute may have its own cutoffs and selection process.
